Our dental practice believes that proper teeth alignment is a crucial goal of achieving a beautiful smile. Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) is an oral health care issue that our staff can alleviate.
The most common symptoms of TMJ include grinding noises while chewing, clicking or popping when the jaw opens or closes, limited mobility of the jaw, complete lockjaw, jaw swelling or jaw pain. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, contact our practice so we can examine you and help you to get relief.
For patients with TMJ, our practice offers relief of the joints of the lower jaw by using splint therapy in which a clear hard acrylic is worn and takes pressure off the TMJ hence prevents the jaw from locking and / or making loud popping sounds.
